The idea of high ticket affiliate marketing is extremely attractive. After all, who wouldn’t want to earn the same amount from one sale as they would from selling 20 lower priced products? To do this, one of the best ways is to learn how to create your own products. With a product of your own, you can increase your affiliate commission by a factor of ten or more.
In order to do high ticket affiliate marketing, you’ll need an email list of your own buyers. And building your own buyers list is easiest by selling your own products. So here we go.
So how do you make a product of your own?
Step 1: Choose the type of your product
Consider the types of products that are most popular and sell well online. There are many affiliate programs that are for weight loss products, while there are affiliate programs that are geared toward helping people fix their golf swing. You can be diversified.
The basic idea here is to do a little research on the niches that sell well – like make money programs, weight loss, health and beauty and so on. There’s absolutely no need to stay on one niche alone, as long as you are able to manage it.
The single rule that you want to follow is to start with a niche you’re close to. That does not mean you have to be an expert or something, but it will help you tremendously if you already know a little bit about the topic. You’ll also find researching much easier.
Step 2: Find a problem to solve
Understand what your customers want, and find a program that will provide them with a solution. One of the biggest mistakes that new affiliate marketers make is that they want to sell just one high ticket product, when that is not the best way to do business.
You can increase your sale by having more products that are in different price ranges. This will allow your customer to buy a variety of different things, which will make them more likely to buy from you in the future. We’re talking about methods to increase the value of the sale, and it’s a whole new topic. I’ll reserve it for another post.
Step 3: Getting the product actually produced
When it comes to getting the product actually produced, there are many different options. You can pay a small company to produce it for you, or you can order it from a major corporation. My personal preference is to order it from a small company, because they know that I have it budgeted and I know how much it will cost to produce the product. This way, they do not feel as pressure to produce it for me quickly.
Step 4: Build the marketing channels
The marketing phase is as important as the producing the product itself, if not more. This phase includes the writing of sales copy, deciding on things like logos and color schemes, and maybe creating sales videos. The last phase is actually building the sales pages, along with everything that goes together with them – delivery pages, email lists, and so on.
Step 5: Sell the product
In order to make sales you’ll need to sell your product proactively. This includes advertising, free or paid, on different social media sites like Facebook, Google, and so on. This is a huge job for a beginner actually, because there are soooo many nuts and bolts here. But I’m sure you can do it, as long as you have the will to sacrifice a little.
One thing you must be well aware of is that there is no such thing as a free lunch. In this context, it means that you will for sure pay for everything you get. And you’ll either pay it with money (like advertising on Facebook), or with your own time – like when you build a fanpage on Facebook and then post every day to lure the potential customers to visit your sites. It depends solely on what you decide to do, and which asset means more to you. If you prefer to spend your time at the keyboard, off you go. But of you’d rather go fishing with your son instead of typing, pick up your credit card.
In the end, both ways will work. The only drawback of the “I’ll do it all myself” method is that it takes much longer to start working – be prepared for that. Google and SEO tactics definitely work, but it can take months before you will see your site on the first page of Google. Oposite to that, paid campaigns tend to work almost immediately – as soon as your ad is posted, you will start getting visitors. So, as already said, you’ll have to decide on that.
Step 6: Generating high ticket commissions
Finally, we come to the topic of this post. And it works like this.
As you sell your products, you’ll gradually build a list of buyers. This list will become your most valued asset. Why? Because these are the people that are not afraid to pull the credit card, remember? And having such a list means you can start promoting other products, including the high ticket products that are in the same niche as your product. And here’s where your big commissions will start to flow, and you will be able to do high ticket affiliate marketing.
Of course, you’ll need something called an autoresponder for that. Which, again, is a different topic and we’ll not go into details here. Let me just say that I’m using two, Aweber and Sendiio. Both have their pros and cons, and if you read this post you’ll know what I mean. It does not really matter which one you choose in the beginning, as long as it suits the purpose.
These are just some tips that I have used and will continue to use in the future to increase my affiliate commissions. Remember, with a product of your own, you can increase your affiliate commission by a factor of ten or more easily.

One of the quickest ways to learn the ins and outs of producing a good product that will sell is to follow someone who is a proven seller. That means that they have a proven record of products created and sales finished. Usually they will show you some affiliate network accounts and you’ll immediately be able to see the results they’ve got in the past.
